Van Cu (09/7/1912 - 8/28/1941) was descended from an intellectual
family, Phu Khe commune, Tu Son District, Bac Ninh Province. He was
general secretary of the Communist Party of Indochina (1938-1940). He
was a revolutionary activist, a steadfast communist, a leader in the
promotion of spiritual struggle frank criticism and self-criticism to
improve the Party's power expressed through his "Self criticism". He was
arrested, sentenced to hard labour, sent to Con Dao and sentenced to
death by French colonists on August 28th, 1941 in Hoc Mon (Ho Chi Minh
City).
